we all have different meetings and commitments the day before the presentation of our dance consequence in INTRICT.. we are the only group that compose the least number of member because we are the "LATE" group.. hahaha!! all of us dont have gruops so we group on our own..

we started practicing one hour before the presentation.. all of us our cramming for the 4 minutes dance.. we prepared steps but it inly takes around 2 mins of the dance so we finally decided to have a showdown to kill the time..
when it started, we are all nervous because we dont know what to do.. the last question i asked before the presentation..


"oi!! pano na yan.. ano gagawin natin??"


they answered..


"bahala na!! gudlak!!"


then the music begins.. hahaha.. it was really an enjoyable experience that all of us not only in our group cannot forget.. we really have fun and forget all the stress ino ur projects and finals.. our group presentation end well at least.. me and ac become the king and queen of the dance floor.. hahaha.. its because of the showdown.. good job for our group!! hehehe..

because we got a -30 in one of our activities.. sir oli gave us a different kind of "ALTERNATIVE CLASS".. where in the world you would find an ICT class that will dance for their alternative class? only iN D-L-S-U! haha.. it seems enjoying from all the stress of the ICTM course.. it is truly a relief that for once! we are not stressed of making codes and think* think* think*!! thank god for this class.. hahaha.. even it is exciting its not that fun for those who both have right legs.. but i still prepare this rather that thinking for our hell MACHINE PROJECT.. (sorry for the term.. heheh.. ' peace!) a goodluck for s13!! for the upcoming dancing event.. hehehe!!

yah!! hehehe..

finally for the very first time.. the republic of the philippines is going for an electronic election.. after several years of decision making, the philippines ends up to a conclusion. they are going to try the electronic election. sir oli discuss to us the 2 types of electronic voting machine. the direct recording electronic, and the optical mark recognition. the first one will take a long time to vote because tere will be only 1 or 2 of this machines in each municipal, while the second machines disadvantage is that it can commit more error than the first one. eventhough both of the machines has different disadvantages, the big advantage of this electronic voting machines is that the votes will be accurately tally and cheating will be lessen..

it will be tested at ARMM this august and hope it will work so that it can be used on 2010

makro.. GETAWAY!!

At last!! INTRICT class was outside the room and better more outside the DLSU campus! Last Saturday we been to Makro Makati for our field trip with sir oli.. the day started irritating because the weather is not too good and one of our friend that we waited is late.. hehe.. at the venue we saw the other block that is with us to tour and know about makro..

The tour started with the history of makro.. makro stated at germany.. It has 15 branches here in the Philippines and makro Makati was the 14th branch that they established.. the manager who entertain and who help us understand more about makro discusses to us a lot of things, this are some of the main pints that she discuss and things also that sticks in to our mind..

*ALC helps them a lot..
-records the bar code systems(rail road).
-handles sales, inventories, trigger sales report, and credit notice.
-this sees as there little I.T. in the company.

*CMM brings them close to their customers..
-customer marketing management
-this system helps them to know information about the customers.

*JIT is strictly important!
-just in time delivery
-no late, no advance!

*MBS is our main I.T!!
-makro business system
-the technology used to gather different information that revolves around the business.
-some info’s can be looked by the customers (like prices) but only the head office can totally look at it.
-it is provided by the main branch and distributed to every branch.
-she didn’t mention the price.. so, eventually it contains a lot of digits! Hehehe!!

first FREE CUT! ever!!

This week we only meet sir oli once.. he was absent on our second meeting because he is sick. Then it was our first free cut.. yehey! no claSses in intrict.. we all wish that it will continue to intrprg and ccsalge because we want to go home early because of the bad weather.. but it did not happen.. hehe..

for our lesson this week, we further elaborate and tackle about information system development.. sir oli gave us the areas that we need to remember to become a professional.. we need to remember the stages of I.S. development, which the two of it sublevels are already discuss to us.. (planning and analysis). Next is the organizational chart, compose of the 9 functional units which is needed to know more about the problem. We also need to remember the information problem and lastly the information system elements which is compose of hardware, software, people, process, network, and data. Rather that remembering this four areas, our main objective is to know how can it be connected to each other and how can it develop the information system.
On our free cut, where almost all of us were shock that we have another activity, sir oliver ask us to list down input devices so that we know which are which.

our last class on that day.. was persef.. it is until 4:40 and we were dismissed at exactly 4:40.. the class suspend at 4:20 and we are not informed.. what a heck.. it was too late that they announced it was suspended..

But there’s another obstacle in the black board for us..
A group exam that will test us how we strategically think and determined..
Hmm.. this is a difficult one..

First.. sir oli proposed a problem.. it was about the COCONUT JUICE MANUFACTURING PLANT that has an increase in loss of inventory and sales due to coconut spoilage..

Then sir asked us to act like a consultant then we must asked the owner(who will be sir oli..) questions that will create solution to the problem.. On the first try.. we raise a total of 13 questions and sir suddenly asked us to stop.. then he said that there is only one question kinda near to the right questions.. god? Really.. out of those questions only one.. and out of those 13 our group only has 1 question.. kinda tough huh?

Be ready for the next round.. 6 questions raise.. this is more near to the right answers but it still lack of questions that will truly create the solution..

Now sir starts to be his true self.. haha.. and told us that it will just take four question to find the answer.. we just need to look for the 9 functional units and analyze the problem.. if you just look into this 9 functional units.. you can see that by looking the involved units like the sales production and the most necessary for this problem, the inventory you can solve this in just 4 questions.. shorter number of questions is important if you’re a consultant.. it will be suited for the owner to take minimal of his time.. the main reason for his problem is he ORDERED TOO MUCH FOR THE DEMAND.. That is why there is a spoilage happening..
if I was to assess myself if I think strategically.. hmm.. I will just say that.. I need more practice and think more deeper.. more knowledge also so that I will be one of the pro’s.. hehe..

and now failed in the second test in intrict.. this time its recorded.. what a waste.. atleast no one pass so were all the same.. haha.. after how many lessons..were now learning how to build solutions for different technology and company problems.. our lesson this week is about integrating technology in different organizations.. on this lesson we are expected to think deeper and understand different problems so that we can propose solutions that wil ltruly help an organization or a company..

what if there is no integration of ICT solutions in organizations?

there will be a larger disadvantage to organization who dont have ict solution.. knowingthat we are in a tecnological age.. living in old process will be a problem.. things will not be done accurately, and new things and development cannot be done..

what a week.. 6 to 9 pm practices, a lot of assignments to do, learning about alice for intprog, still! low grades in algebra, (hate it.. so frustrating.. =[ ) and preparing for the interview in intrict..

LUCKY NUMBER 1.. JET'S GROUP..

waahh.. 1st group to present.. hehe.. but thats ok atleast the burden will be lessen for me.. knowing that i have a lot of things to do.. well, the result was not quite good but there is still next time.. that will serve as a lesson for us to think outside the box and not concentrating on the main agenda so that you can get more information...

"hate surprises!"

no its not a surprise.. it was announced.. 5 minutes before the start of class.. so it is really not surprise.. right? hahaha!

watta day.. test in math, seatwork in intprog, and.. waaaat? a test in intrict? hmm.. at first i was really surprise because i dont know what are the scopes of the test.. when i received the paper.. i was quite relaxed because it is only true or false.. but at the baack of the paper.. it has an enumeration!!! i only copied what is shown on the powerpoint because i think it is close to the answer.. then.. the checking and the results was done... my score?

i was only 8! so sad.. but.. its alright because sir oli decided not to record it.. tnx sir!!

what i learned on that day is about enterprise.. about the difference between the perational and tactical.. and what enterprise compose of.. i was really shock about the different information sir oli given to us.. namely about the issue of gasoline prices.. and also about the rice.. i didn't think of those tactics even before..

but what i cant forget is this..

"when there is a McDo.. there is always a jollibee.."

lol! from that day that sir oli told us about that i become addicted of observing it everytime i see mcdonalds .. and in fact, it was really true.. and sometimes there's a 2:1 ratio.. 2 jollibee for 1 mcdo.. hehe.. i just smiled and said to myself..

"tnx to sir oli.. heheh"

what's with the computing industry?

computing industry exist a high demnd for professional even here at the philippines..


on our class with sir oli this week, he discussed to us about the demands of i.t. professional.. and specially, how will a lasallian be a professional.. he first discuss us the high demant of professional on this job.. there is a high demand because the quality of professional graduates here at the philippines are going down.. because some find this course difficult, there is also a decrease in enrollment.. a lot of professional are needed anually.. there is a lesser chance of being empliyed also because of the requirments of the company for the job are not obtained..

there are a lot of technical skills needed.. the minimum is 5.. but in lasalle they are going to teach only 2.. that's java and sql.. the moment that it enters my mind.. i only taught that, why do we need to pay high for only two skills? but sir oli explains why before the violent reactions starts.. he told us that we need to learn it ourselves.. to be independent.. fair enough.. but..



what if the students cant be independent?


what if the student cannot sustain the character of an independent person?



that is why dlsu focuses more on non technical skills for building a good character for a profesiional.. almost all the non technical skills needed are being teach or learn in this university.. it is because professionals must not be up to the job.. what they really need is the career.. thats the statement that i learn from sir oli.. and im going to uphold myself with that line..

on this first graph shows the very need or the necessary requirments of this job.. the technical skills.. as shown in the graph the in demand technical skills nowadays are SQL and what most of us students know, JAVA. for now i have a lot of questions about this different skills because there are new to me.. but i wish that in time.. i will learn the other skills also so that i can apply to different jobs..

on this bar graph shows the non technical skills that are required for a 1 year experience i.t. jobs.. as shown.. the basic components or characteristics one must have is analytical, teamwork, and especially communicating skills.. communicating skills is for you to elaborate and explain to your workers what you want to show on your proposal or idea.. while teamwork is the best method because doing different programs requires a lot of people so that it can be finished accurately.. companies hire a lot of workers for it to be more sucessful.. that is why teamwork is important because you are going to be expose to the different i.t. professionals..

this 5 are the responsibilities that mostly needed by the companies or by the job.. there are a lot more different responsibilities but i only chose some which are more necessary.. as shown at the bar graph it is very important for a company that a person can work under pressure.. it is very imoprtant for i.t. workers because it takes a lot of time producing and developing applications and projects.

after our first week, we are now entering the doors of becoming an i.t. student.. from the different information that sir oli gave us, our knowledge widen about this ICTM course..

learning about productivity is the main ingredient for the main course of this job.. my own definition for the word productivity is this..
productivity is the reason why i.t. professional are paid.. why? because if an i.t. professional doesn't have this, he cannot be consider as a pro in this genre.. productivity is the one needed by the companies because this is for thier own advantages and for their own comfort.. the value of the idea that an i.t. pro can give to the company is the one necessary for an i.t. pro to be paid and to be recognized as one.. the effect of that idea for the company or an org is what being tested.. it is an i.t. professional who must have this ability to produce that value for the different company so that their task will be reduced so that it can able to perform a lot of work..

the first two question may be answered personally by how will i achieve my dreams to become one.. to become one of them, you must learn a lot and simply.. learn to love what you are doing.. cause without this love or passion.. you will just stay junk outside a company..

the next question that all of us always asked is how do we differ from computer degree..

there are a lot of answer to this question.. some are about application technologies, about system utilities tools, operating sytems and different other terms that some of it i cant understand.. but for me..
i can answer that question with this simple statement..

"kung wla ang c.s. ano ang gagawin ng ictm? ganon din sa ictm.. kung wla ang ictm.. ano ang gagawin ng c.s.?"

1st day, 1st subject.. INTRICT.. 1st impression as sir olive enter... "waaat? klase na kaya agad?" all of a sudden, there was a relief as sir olive said that he was just going to orient us about the subject.. 1st impression to the teacher.. ehem.. " astigZ " using of technology to know our personal info.. hehe.. it was veery different and found myself with a smile a say to myself that i will encouter a lot of modern technologies as i learn more about this course..

on the second day, sir olive introduce us to google.. seems like im entering another world because im used to do things at yahoo.. well, its not bad to give it a try.. as he explains the different advantages of google like the calendar system, maps, more convenient bookmarks, documents that 2 person ca nwork on together and other more, the scenario was liked he is a seller who convinces me to buy google and he definitly convinced me to buy that thing.. good job sir.. hehe.. he teaches us the other uses of internet like for entertainment, communications and other things i am amazed because i dont know it before..

as i always said.. this is really not my decided course.. but because of this subject i think im getting along with it and be happy to stay.. thanks sir! heheh
